Former Horned Frog Edgar Crespo competed at the FINA Swimming World Cup in Qatar and Dubai last weekend.

FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU swimming and diving alumni Edgar Crespo recently competed in the Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA) Swimming World Cup in Dubai and Qatar. A native of Panama, Crespo swam in the 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke in both events, qualifying for three event finals.

At Qatar, Crespo finished ninth overall in the 50m heats with a 27.83. He finished sixth in the final with a 27.65. Crespo also competed in the 100m heats, finishing 11^th overall with a 1:00.98.

At Dubai, Crespo finished seventh in the 50m final with a 27.78 after qualifying with the fourth-fastest time out of the heats. He also earned the final qualifying spot in the 100m with a 1:00.84 and finished seventh in the event final with a 1:00.82.

Señores CoCoeros, les cuento que el nadador Edgar Crespo sigue dando la talla pues ahora fue escogido como el abanderado de la delegación de Panamá a los Juegos Deportivos Bolivarianos, que se realizarán en las ciudades peruanas de Trujillo y Chiclayo en noviembre de este mismo año.

Les cuento que Crespo fue escogido por la mayoría de los representantes de las organizaciones deportivas que estuvieron en la votación, en la que también fueron candidatos la esgrimista Eileen Grench y el golfista Marcos Cabarcos, detalló el Comité Olímpico de Panamá.

Además les cuento que Panamá estará presente en la competición, que se llevará a cabo del 15 al 30 de noviembre próximo, con una delegación de 104 atletas de 18 disciplinas deportivas, además de otras 40 personas, ahondó el documento.
